Brief Summary
Vetscape is in need of a new and expanded website. Currently we are staff limited, and do not have the in-house resources to needed to carryout this project. We are looking for an experienced web designer/developer with immediate availability to get the framework for our new site up and running. Our goal is to have a new site live by March 27th.
Problem
Part of Vetscape's mission is to produce and promote original media content showcasing the talents and inspirational journeys of veteran athletes.
In doing so, Vetscape helps civilians better understand the veteran experience, and redefines the public’s perception of veterans from one of stigma to one of strength. What we aim to do:
-Produce videos, photos, and articles featuring veteran athletes overcoming extreme physical challenges
-Document veterans’ personal stories and positive transformations to inspire other veterans facing similar struggles
-Promote Team Vetscape athletes through social media channels and blogs
To accomplish these goals we need a new website that can accommodate the content outlined above and expand as the organization grows.
Goal
Vetscape is looking to build a new website with the following features:
-events list and detail pages
-profile pages for each of our veteran athletes
-a blog
-store front
-a robust/advanced gallery for video and photography content
-the ability to accept donations
-SEO optimized
-and a user-friendly CMS for staff with basic html/css knowledge
We currently have a site outline ready to be built and a WordPress theme selected that would meet most of our needs, but it would need some design customization. (We are open to other theme/platform options if the right designer/developer came along with availability within our timeframe.) We are looking for someone with time to commit in the next couple weeks.

About Us
Vetscape is a 501(c)3 non-profit that empowers
veterans to find their next mission in life.
We are an action sports and outdoor adventure-based community that brings veteran athletes together on mission-focused teams. For veterans struggling to adjust to civilian life after returning from combat service, these teams can ignite positive transformation by recreating the structure, training, support, and camaraderie formerly provided by the military. Vetscape’s programs offer therapeutic alternatives to destructive high-risk activities––such as drugs, alcohol abuse, and violence––as well as a social and support community for veterans struggling with issues associated with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
Team Vetscape participates in a variety of sporting events across the country, including kiteboarding, skydiving, paddleboard racing, BASE jumping, and endurance races like the World’s Toughest Mudder. Our veterans develop new skills, new purpose, and new teammates for life.
Our media house, Vetscape Media, showcases Team Vetscape athletes overcoming extreme physical and mental challenges, and documents their personal stories. In doing so, Vetscape aims to inspire other veterans facing similar struggles, and to redefine the public’s perception of veterans from one of stigma to one of strength.
